OK 53.05 is a basic electrode with particularly good mechanical properties and excellent welding properties in both bottom strings and cover strings. OK 53.05 is particularly preferred for pipe welding and position welding. The electrode is strongly crater-forming, whereby the arc is brought to burn stably and gets an extra protection against penetration from the atmosphere in difficult and "crooked" welding positions. Area of ??application: OK 53.05 is intended for welding structural steel, container plate and ship plate up to and including types corresponding to the German DIN designation St 52-3 or equivalent microalloyed structural steel with a tensile strength of 520-650 N/mm and a yield strength of up to approx. 400 N/mm.
